Empowering Equity for Effective Engagement.

Connecting Local Businesses with Local Non-Profits for the Greater Good

Welcome to The Common Good Midland
At The Common Good Midland, we make it easier for local businesses to partner with local non-profits—building stronger communities through meaningful collaboration.

Our initiative was born from years of experience working and volunteering in both the for-profit and non-profit sectors. We’ve seen firsthand how stretched non-profits can be—maximizing every donated dollar to provide free or low-cost services, often with small teams and big mission statements.

Non-profits regularly host large fundraising events that do more than just generate revenue—they raise critical awareness about the vital role these organizations play in our communities. At The Common Good Midland, we aim to support these efforts by connecting them with local businesses that want to give back, get involved, and make a difference where it matters most.

About Us

A proud native Midlander, Rebecca Patterson Linehan has spent her career working in the for-profit sector while volunteering in the nonprofit world. Within the Midland community, Rebecca has built a track record of service, holding past leadership roles with Museum of the Southwest—President, The Junior League of Midland, Inc.—Executive Vice President, Leadership Midland—Chair, and Midland County Bar Association—President. She's also classically trained as an attorney and currently practices in the Litigation Division at the Stubbeman, McRae, Sealy, Laughlin & Browder law firm. Prior to that, Rebecca served as an Assistant District Attorney for Midland County for ten years. Together, those chapters have shaped a commitment to community problem-solving. Rebecca recharges by spending time with her two young sons and supportive husband, Russell, or swapping book recommendations with friends, and she definitely never turns down a good cup of coffee. She graduated from the Hankamer School of Business at Baylor University as well as Baylor School of Law.

Carma-Lynn Muscroft brings more than 35 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, with a strong focus on the arts and community engagement programming. She moved to Midland, Texas, in 2010, where she and her husband of 27 years, Sloane, have raised their four beautiful daughters.

Since arriving in Midland, Carma-Lynn has served on numerous boards and committees and has further honed her skills as Director of Production and Producer for Basin PBS. Driven by a passion for storytelling and collaboration, she is dedicated to connecting community partners to help build a stronger city rooted in the heart of West Texas.
